Ok start from me, my favourite freeware is "PAINT.Net"

Its cool for editing image, i can say is very simple but have a lot of function (like Photoshop ) but in free version !

Its require microsoft .Net framework 2.0 to run

Free download manager - it's cool, has user friendly interface and is absolutely free
