Have get some tips in some forum...Hopefully its usefull for you..
=======================
Ok I've taken ages, mucking about looking for random ways to make a good site, want to make a good site quick ? Well You can make one really quick, Portal, Forum , Gallery all really good looking ! ALL PROGRAMS I SUGGEST ARE OPENSOURCES ~ FREE . I've taken ages to find all this out myself and now i'll let noobs in on my secrets.
You can make your site look like this !! :
www.zone-anime.com !!
Yes less than an hour !! (Excluding time it takes to find templates etc...)
Image Gallery ~ Option 1 :
http://www.zone-anime.com/index.php?...pose&Itemid=75
Forum :
http://www.zone-anime.com/index.php?..._smf&Itemid=62
Plz Don't go and copy this without my authorisation.
OK !
Part 1 :
Install Joomla, it's a CMS , You can do this by going into your Cpanel, go into fantastico and install Joomla.
[I reccomend that you read the joomla documentation,
http://developer.joomla.org/sf/go/pr...frs.joomla_1_0
Dl the documentation, it explains how to use Joomla, Please note if you do this , it'll take you a bit longer than 1hr to make the whole site ^^ ]
Part 2 :
go on
http://www.simplemachines.org/
Download the forum program, upload the .zip using the filemanager on the Cpanel, extract the .zip, Open the installation file, Install the forum in the same database as Joomla , it's extremely important you do this.
You can get themes from here :
http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/
I reccomend themes made by Pixelshot, like BlackTed
http://www.pixelslot.com/skins/blackTed
Part 3 :
Go here :
http://www.simplemachines.org/download/?bridges
Follow the instructions and "Bridge joomla with the Forum"
Basically this means that your usernames on Joomla and the forum will be syncronised, so that you don't have to have 2 usernames, just one.
Please note, to do this you must go into the joomla backend, there should be an admin link, it's ???.com/administrator/index.php
G
It's not too hard to do, noobs can do it. Here's what options I recommend you put it :
Here's a tutorial done by midnight soul, it goes into a bit more detail
http://yurx.com/showthread.php?t=308...light=tutorial
There is one option for you to choose , it's the bit that says "Wrapped or Unwrapped" , Is you press wrapped, it means the forum with be inside Joomla, but if you press unwrapped, it means the forum will open a new window.

Ok now install this , by going into the joomla backend,
www.???.com/administrator/index.php , go i
Ok now that's done, now for an image gallery !
GALLERY Option 1 :
I reccomend that you install Joomla Explorer before
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...102/Itemid,35/
Just go into the joomla backend, [admin place] and go installers and install it.
This will allow you to upload files via joomla.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's a demo of this gallery
http://www.zone-anime.com/index.php?...pose&Itemid=75
This took me ages to get to work, as Yurx didn't have a PHP extention installed, but I got RaidX to install it so it should be fine ^^
So I reccomend Expose 4 Image Gallery, it's a Flash Gallery .
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...254/Itemid,35/
Install it, takes just 2 clicks, go installers, components, upload the file that you downloaded, it auto installs, then just go "Components
Default password is : manager
This is where you need to go to configure it.
If you have some problems using the album manager provided, you can download it, set up your album on your computer, then upload the files onto your site , using Joomla Explorer,
You can download the album manager for your pc here here :
http://www.slooz.com/trinkets.php
f your using the manager on your computer, then the manager will create 2 folders for you, xml and image, as you can see on the screenshot, you can see the place where you have to go [ you can do this via your cpanel] , [Public_html/components/com_expose/expose/]
And there you go ! You have a gallery set up !
Gallery Option 2 :
If you choose to install the 1st gallery, then ignore this and scroll down.
So you don't want a Flash Gallery ? a PHP Gallery is what you want ?
Ok Well I reccomend a Gallery called "Gallery 2 " It's the most advanced Gallery out there ! Please note that this will be a lot harder to install then Option 1 .
OKAY !
Click here to have a look at a demo :
http://gallery.menalto.com/gallery/demosites/
Click here to download Gallery 2 :
http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Downloads
Ok install it using Cpanel etc. (Upload it onto cpanel, extract it, make the correct SQL datbases etc, Gallery 2 has it's own Installation program making the installation fairly simple.
Once installed you have to bridge it to Joomla
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...137/Itemid,35/
Download the bridge, install it, it's soo EASY !
This is fairly simple, the bridge, will make it so you don't have to have a seperate username for the gallery and joomla.
OK done ^^
Gallery option 3
If you chose one of the Gallery options before scroll down and ignore this
Ok the last 2 galleries seemed a bit to complex for you ? Want something really simple ?
Just download "Easy Gallery"
Download :
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...109/Itemid,35/
Demo :
www.sig-zone.com
Ok ! Just go installers --> Components, and install it !
Click click, and it's done !!
OK Other random things you can put on your site !
To install these, for the most part, you just have to install the component by going Installers --> Components, sometimes you may have to install a "module" as well, a module is for things that show up on your site, so say for example you have a program, it won't show up on your site, without another program to make it show up on your site ! ~ That's what a module is for (I know i explain badly)
Sometimes you just have to install the module.
Add a calendar :
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...544/Itemid,35/
Add Ads :
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...,25/Itemid,35/
Adbrite :
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...699/Itemid,35/
Google Adsense ads :
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...699/Itemid,35/
Add a download system ! :
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...,82/Itemid,35/
There are loads of other things you can do, I'm not going to write it all down
OK Now you've got a site, with a CMS (Joomla) , a forum intergrated into your site (SMF, Simple Machines Forum) , and a Image gallery (Depends on which option you chose)
Now go and configure them ! Find some themes that go together, Now This is the time taking part , Look around and try and make all these themes match !
