The full story of Captain Tsubasa (Majed) {original series}:
First, who is Tsubasa (Majed)?
He is the son of Mr. Kamel, the sea captain who sails from country to another, and who rarely gets to his home country. In most cases he sees his son Majed and his wife only once a year, so Majed was completely raised by his mother who taught him supreme manners and straight behaviors. From his early days of life, Majed showed great interest in football. His attachment with football was so conspicuous that every one expected him to be the hero of the future. Majed himself dreamt to be a famous player who will lead the Japanese (Arabian team) to world cup.
It is worthily important here to state the following event, as it will completely influence the series of events hereafter:
One day, When Majed was two years old; he dashed through the streets following his beloved football, which had been got away from his tiny feet during his play. The ball rolled away and was placed in the middle of the asphalt; the poor kid went for the ball and caught it firmly, without being careful to the fast van that was passing the road rapidly at the same time. The van driver tried to avoid hitting Majed, Tried to brake, tried to slower his speed, but all was in vain. All the road passers expected to see a dead kid after a while, but the ever merciful God had another opinion. The most graceful God decided to make Majed survive, as the ball which was held firmly by Majed absorbed the power of impact leaving his body intact; but the reaction made him fly so high until he settled among leaves of grass surrounding the road.
A fair conclusion from stated above is that football saved Majed's life, and Majed decided to give the whole of his life to football. There is a reciprocal love relationship between Majed and football.
The story opens in 1983. Majed is moving to a new town with his mother, who is taking care of him alone in the absence of his father, who is out to sea. When he arrives at Nankatsu (Alyasmin city), he automatically wants to join the school's soccer team. For Tsubasa dreams of being the greatest soccer player in Japan(Arabia). Just when he arrives at his new home, he hears of a boy who claims to be the greatest goalkeeper in Japan(Arabia). This boy, Genzo Wakabayashi (Waleed), can catch any kind of ball, not just soccer balls, and Tsubasa immediately wants to challenge him. But another stranger has entered his life. A Brazilian man named Roberto Hongo(Fawaz), a drifter who was once a soccer player but had his career ended by an injury(He had a serious injury in his eye). Roberto was sent by Tsubasa's father to be his trainer. Tsubasa balks at the idea at first, but soon becomes good friends with Roberto, who shows him some amazing skills...and promises to take him to Brazil if he is good enough.
In the meantime, Tsubasa sends a challenge(written on a soccer ball!) to Wakabayashi, who is practicing at his mansion with his own personal trainer(Hassan). It's a rather cute scene...Tsubasa near a guardrail with his new friend Ryo Ishizaki(Omar), and he kicks the ball so hard that it flies all the way to Wakabayashi kun's house...then the shocked Ishizaki tries to check out the bottoms of Tsubasa kun's shoes, thinking that they're magic or something.
Tsubasa eventually does play against Wakabayashi...and wins. The boy is so friendly that even ill-tempered Wakabayashi is won over...and his team merges with Nankatsu(Elmagd). Now, the team, with Wakabayashi as the captain, prepares for the championship. The new name for the team then was Elyasmin.
The next game was kind of a blur...but Wakabayashi is injured, forcing him to entrust the team to Tsubasa for the championship. (hence the title "Captain Tsubasa")... But fear not, for the team has obtained yet another new member! Taro Misaki(Yasin Yaser) is travelling with his artist father, and makes friends with Tsubasa quickly. Yasin was absolutely a great player who helped Majed to win all the matches and obstacles which faced Elyasmin's team.When they get to the championship, some rather..interesting characters are waiting for them.
