Default Does adding more RAM to your computer make it faster?

Up to a point, adding RAM (random access memory) will normally cause your computer to feel faster on certain types of operations. RAM is important because of an operating system component called the virtual memory manager (VMM).
So what do you think? RAM really make ure computer faster or not?

I had tried using 520 RAM DDL and it not faster because I am using Windows 98 browser so I just go back to 256 which is most recognized by my system. Adding too much RAm to windows can slow down your system. Unless your using Linux. "There are some trouble with windowsSe with too much RAM some windows like windows 9 x are not designed to use more RAM or higher RAM. But for those using Windows XP or Windows 200 they can have higher ram and they wont have any problem at all."(aumha.org). I think RAM could make your computer faster but it really depends on what browser you are using.

RAM don't make pc run faster, just make it run more smooth.
There are alot of reason to make pc slow down (you just need to tab over 2 programs that you use will make pc slow down), and adding RAM is a good way to avoid it.
But if your pc can't handle 1 program, then adding RAM got no meaning

Of course they are. I have the accident with Counter-Strike. When I had 256 MB of RAM game was Ok, but not so awesome as now - with 512. I guess additional RAMs are really useful.

I don't add it to my computer. I have many ways to make my computer to be faster like clean it. The bad way is to reinstall the system.

I think that almost all the new games have high requirements - but you dont need only RAM to play that games, you need also a good graphic card, speed of youre processor, and so on.
The question was for all kind of programs, better say for the performance of youre computer. I personally changed my RAM from 256 DDR to 1024 DDR and i can see a big difference - not only with games.
I think now after i did this, that the RAM are one of the most important piece in speeding youre comuter. More important then processor.
